David E. Hall was born in 1912 to Ephraim and Dora (Potts) Hall. He spent his entire life farming on the family farm in Genoa. David was a longtime member of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, and he passed away in 1998. A bequest in 1999 from his estate created the David E. Hall Memorial Endowment Fund at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The Fund provides ongoing financial support to the DeKalb County Animal Welfare Shelter, known as the Barn on Baseline. The annual distributions honor the life and legacy of David Hall.
