Dennis “Denny” Pickett devoted his life to education, athletics, and family. A talented athlete from a young age, he excelled in baseball throughout high school and college before building a distinguished career as a teacher and coach. For more than three decades, he inspired students in the classroom and on the playing field, including 24 years at DeKalb High School. Known for his dedication, leadership, and love of mentoring young people, Denny left a lasting impact on generations of students and athletes.

In his memory, gifts were directed to the DeKalb County Community Endowment Fund at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. Through this Community Impact Fund, his legacy of investing in people and strengthening the community continues to support local needs and opportunities for years to come.
