Jeri L. Delaney
Jeri Lynn Delaney (1945–2022) brought warmth, humor, and wholehearted care to the Sycamore community. After moving to DeKalb County in the early 1970s, she became a beloved presence at Sycamore High School, where she served as a teacher’s assistant and quietly impacted the lives of countless students. Known to many as “Miss Jeri,” she had a gift for encouraging others and making every student feel seen, supported, and valued. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In her memory, the Jeri Delaney Memorial Fund was established at the DeKalb County Community Foundation to support special education programming at Sycamore High School. Through this Agency Fund, her legacy continues to uplift students and reflect the compassion and advocacy she shared so freely throughout her life.
