Julie Eggert Haka was born in 1935. The Julie Eggert Haka Memorial Scholarship Fund was established at the DeKalb County Community Foundation upon her passing. The Sycamore Education Foundation created the Fund to recognize a gift from Julie's family. The Fund provides an annual award to a graduating senior from Sycamore High School. The award benefits a student pursuing a degree in medicine with an emphasis on nursing. The legacy of Julie Eggert Haka is honored each year through the distribution of this scholarship.
