Marjorie Danielson
Marjorie Ethel (Gilbert) Danielson was born on July 23, 1908, in Hardin County, Iowa. She married Clifford Danielson in 1935. Marjorie was an English teacher at Sycamore High School. After she retired, Marjorie was appointed by then Sycamore Mayor Harold "Red" Johnson to the original citizen's committee that helped establish a National Register historic district in Sycamore.
After her husband passed away in 1995, Marjorie created a Field of Interest Fund in his memory at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The Marjorie and Clifford Danielson Fund provides ongoing support to local nonprofit organizations that embrace a sense of community or interest in the community. Such interests include nature and land conservation, historic preservation, cultural and artistic endeavors, and archival preservation. Marjorie passed away in 1998, at the age of 90. The Fund received memorial contributions from her funeral. Together, Marjorie and Clifford continue to leave a legacy of love and support for their community.
