Marjorie E. Lehan

Marjorie Eleanor Lehan was born on June 14, 1926. She attended school in Compton and graduated from Mendota High School in 1944. Marge graduated with a teaching certificate and a degree in business from St. Teresa College in Winona, MN. After graduation, she returned to Compton and began to work for her father's General Store before moving to DeKalb.

Marge met her husband Jim and married him on November 11, 1952. She chose to stay at home and become a housewife. Over the next 50 years, Marge played an integral part at Lehan Drugs. She was also a proud member of Haish School Board, Catholic Daughters, Junior Women's Club, and This -N- That Club.

In 1946, Marge and Jim established the James & Marjorie Lehan Family Scholarship Fund at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The Lehan's knew firsthand the importance of quality education and the expenses that accompanied it. The Scholarship Fund was their way to give back to local students from both DeKalb and Sycamore High School looking to pursue a career in the healthcare field.

Marjorie Eleanor Lehan of DeKalb passed away on August 27, 2016, at the age of 90. The family directed memorial contributions to the newly created Scholarship Fund. Marge's legacy of love and support continues to live on through the annual distributions from this Fund.
