Nana Kendall
Nana Kay Kendall (1944–2022) lived with curiosity, generosity, and a deep devotion to family. A Sycamore native, she pursued her education in hotel and restaurant management at a time when few women entered the field, later building a life centered on travel, hospitality, and meaningful connections. She cherished time with loved ones, remained loyal to lifelong friends, and approached life with warmth, independence, and a caring spirit.
In her memory, gifts were directed in honor of her parents, Donald and Bernice Kendall, to the Donald D. Kendall Fund at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. Through this thoughtful gesture, her legacy continues to support students and reflect her family’s longstanding commitment to education and opportunity.
