Patricia Irene Woodstrup was born in Elmhurst, Illinois. She married Thomas E. Woodstrup in 1950 and attended Northern Illinois University, where she received her master's degree. Patricia worked as an educator and taught at every elementary and junior-high grade level during her career. She was active throughout her life in Episcopalian churches and taught religious education classes. 

Patricia Irene Woodstrup passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2003. In 2004, her husband Thomas established the Patricia Woodstrup Family Endowment Fund as a Donor Advised Fund at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. After his passing in 2008, the Fund changed to the Patricia Woodstrup Memorial Scholarship Fund, benefitting Sycamore High School students studying education. This adjustment to the Fund aligned well with Patricia's passions and charitable interests. Patricia's legacy of love and support continues to live on through the annual distributions from this Fund.
