Rosemary (Becker) Redmond

Rosemary (Becker) Redmond married her husband, Donald, on October 7, 1950, in St. Paul, Minnesota. The couple left their families in Minnesota and moved to Oregon, Ilinois, in 1954, where Donald worked for the DeKalb-Ogle Telephone Company. Rosemary and Donald relocated to Sycamore in 1959 when his office moved. The Redmonds adopted two beautiful children during their marriage.

Rosemary passed away on November 9, 1980, from ovarian cancer. They had been married for 30 years. In her memory, Donald created the Rosemary Redmond Sycamore High School Scholarship Fund at the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The scholarship was awarded annually to a student from Sycamore High School in memory of Rosemary’s ten dedicated years of service as treasurer of Sycamore High School.

Donald Morris Redmond passed Monday, July 9, 2012. Contributions given in his memory supported the newly renamed Donald & Rosemary Redmond Memorial Scholarship Fund. The generosity and legacy of Rosemary and Donald Redmond continue to live on in the community.
