Thomas R. Rauman
Thomas R. Rauman attended Western Illinois University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He went on to receive certification as a public account and began work at DeKalb Genetics Corp in 1970. Thomas worked in various positions within DeKalb Genetics before becoming vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
Thomas was a remarkable businessman with a reputation for integrity, good humor, and intelligence. He enjoyed serving others and was involved in Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a Little League coach for girl’s softball. He also served as a board member of the Kishwaukee Family YMCA, including a term as president, and was on the board of the Ben Gordon Center.
Thomas R. Rauman passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 16, 1998. The Thomas R. Rauman Memorial Scholarship Fund keeps the legacy of Thomas alive and well in DeKalb. The Fund resides at the DeKalb County Community Foundation and awards an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from DeKalb High School who demonstrates a need for financial assistance and desires continuing education.
