Wilma C. Wells (Albrecht) was born August 1, 1929, in Champaign, Ilinois. After marriage to Harold P. Wells, they moved and lived in various places, including DeKalb, Illinois.

Wilma and Dr. Wells raised five boys; sons Danny, Jeff, and Drew, and Thai boys Bancha and Krisada Kampanat. Wilma always had a full meal prepared, clean uniforms for her athletic boys, and was a loud and supportive voice at sports contests.

Harold passed away on May 11, 1996. Upon his passing, Wilma created a Scholarship Fund at the DeKalb County Community Foundation to honor his memory and charitable interests.

Wilma C. Wells passed away on December 1, 2019. Her family requested a name change to the existing Scholarship Fund. The newly named Dr. & Mrs. Harold P. Wells Scholarship Fund continues in its original intent to help DeKalb Fire Department members and their families have a chance at furthering their education in some small way. The Fund honors their memory and leaves a legacy of love and support for the community.
